DJI Terra vs DataTerra OS: local processing workstation or cloud workspace

DJI Terra is Windows software for 2D/3D reconstruction, LiDAR, multispectral work and detailed inspection, closely integrated with DJI Enterprise hardware. It exports GeoTIFF DOM/DSM, meshes, LAS/LAZ point clouds and multiple 3D formats, and supports Gaussian Splatting and offline license editions.

DJI's FAQ lists Windows 10 or later, 32 GB RAM and an NVIDIA GPU with 4 GB memory as minimum 3D reconstruction requirements; 64 GB and NVIDIA 2070 or above are recommended. Standard and Flagship licenses are perpetual, with exact pricing dependent on edition and sales channel.

DataTerra OS runs processing in the cloud and adds missions, planning, compliance, CRM, quotes, fleet, client portal, viewers and opportunities. Choose Terra for deep DJI/LiDAR integration, local or offline control and mature specialist formats. Consider DataTerra OS for browser-based production connected to operator business workflows. DataTerra OS does not replace Terra's DJI integration or offline/LiDAR depth. Its relative volume comparison can align two DataTerra-processed flights without RTK when stable surrounding zones exist, but it is not absolute survey accuracy.
