Your field's health, seen from space
Scored agro diagnostic: 24 months of Sentinel-2 NDVI/NDRE, climate, soil and suitability — for coffee, avocado or any crop. From $29.
The problem
Buying, leasing or financing farmland without an objective track record is a gamble. Past yields are self-reported, real plant vigor can't be seen from the road, and water stress or gradual degradation can stay invisible until the harvest fails.
The DataTerra solution
- ✓24 months of Sentinel-2 (ESA) satellite history: actual vegetation vigor, not claims
- ✓Agronomic NDVI and NDRE indices with trend curves and stress-episode detection
- ✓Crop-aware analysis: coffee, avocado or generic profiles — specific thresholds and interpretation
- ✓24-month climate (rain, temperatures) checked against the crop's comfort range, SoilGrids soil data and UPRA suitability (Colombia)
- ✓A clear verdict: HEALTHY / WATCH / HIGH STRESS, backed by the data that justifies it
What's in the report
A ~16 page PDF, 6 scored dimensions, satellite maps of your field included.
- 1.Executive summary: 0-100 health score and HEALTHY / WATCH / HIGH STRESS verdict
- 2.Vegetation vigor and water: NDVI, NDRE and NDMI over 24 months (Sentinel-2, 10 m resolution)
- 3.Trend and seasonality: curves, year-over-year comparison, detected stress episodes
- 4.NDVI maps of the field: spatial view of strong and weak zones
- 5.Local climate, 24 months: rainfall and temperatures vs the crop's optimal range
- 6.Soil: texture, pH, organic carbon (SoilGrids) + UPRA crop suitability (Colombia)
- 7.External risks: nearby deforestation, territorial context
- 8.Online interactive map (90 days) + sources & methodology annex

Frequently asked questions
Why 24 months of history?▸
Two full annual cycles make it possible to tell normal seasonality from real degradation, and to compare the field against itself year over year.
What do NDVI and NDRE actually tell me?▸
NDVI measures overall vegetation vigor; NDRE, more sensitive to chlorophyll, catches stress earlier in dense crops. Both are global agronomic standards, computed here on ESA Sentinel-2 imagery at 10 m resolution.
My crop isn't coffee or avocado — is that a problem?▸
No. The generic profile analyzes any cultivated vegetation. Specific profiles (coffee, avocado) only refine the climate interpretation and thresholds. New profiles are added regularly.
What if my field is often under clouds?▸
The report only uses usable observations and states how many months are covered. Below a coverage threshold, the section is marked "insufficient data" rather than guessed.
Which countries do you cover?▸
The diagnostic works anywhere in the world: Sentinel-2 imagery, ERA5 climate and SoilGrids soil data are global. National layers (UPRA suitability in Colombia) are added automatically where they exist — same report, same price. The order wizard confirms availability in real time.
How long until I receive the diagnostic?▸
Within 48 hours at most — the chain is automated (imagery, climate, soil, scoring, PDF), and most reports go out within a few hours.
Does the report also cover water and land cover?▸
Yes — historical flood exposure (JRC Global Surface Water, 40+ years of observations), 10 m land cover (ESA WorldCover), terrain and slope at 30 m (Copernicus), on top of NDVI/NDRE, climate and soil.
Can I monitor my field over time?▸
Each report is a complete snapshot, with no subscription. Many clients reorder a diagnostic every season or before a decision (purchase, replanting, irrigation) — the 24-month history provides continuity between two reports.
Can I see a report before buying?▸
Yes — a complete, real example (plot in Tepoztlán, Mexico, generic profile) can be downloaded at the top of the page.

This report is a decision-support tool based on public satellite imagery and public agro-climatic data. It does not replace an agronomic field visit or a laboratory soil analysis, and DataTerra's liability does not extend beyond the quality of the aggregation and interpretation of the cited sources.
